KRU Muay Thai

The KRU Muay Thai Curriculum is the first of its kind. It is a complete Martial Arts System that includes a progressive rank system, incusive of fitness, technical skill and self defense combat applications that has been modified to not only be safe for the practitioner, but alot of fun, too. KRU Master Instructor Ace Ramirez was featured on Mtv’s popular series “MADE” as an exclusive COACH where he exposed Muay Thai to the public as he helped transform a teenage girl deal with her Bullies in school while also finding the confidence to reach her personal goals.

What is “KRU”?

“KRU” is literally translated from the Thai language as meaning “teacher”. KRU Muay Thai is therefore a teaching style. Not to be confused with “cardio kickboxing”, the origins of Muay Thai date back thousands of years to Siam now known today as Thailand.

“KRU” is also a homonym for “crew”, or defined as a group of single-minded people who share a common goal.

Therefore we like to think that we never train without our “KRU”, our teachers and peers. The KRU Muay Thai curriculum thus involves both components, and is completed by our will to learn, progress and grow.

What will I learn?

The KRU Muay Thai Student Program has 3 Levels broken into 9 Progressive Ranks. Although it looks alot like kickboxing, Muay Thai is also known as the “Art/Science of 8 Limbs” and is revolving around use of the 2 fists, 2 elbows, 2 knees and 2 shin/feet.

Level 1 – Emphasis is on Offensive Tool Development and Conditioning.

Level 2 – Defensive Strategy and the art of Holding Pads

Level 3 – Akward Styles. This is an exposure to not just classic Muay Thai technique, but recognition and application in the practice and defense when faced with other martial arts styles and street scenarios.

KRU Muay Thai is a highly sought after program that is practiced in school from the West Coast of the United States to the UK in Europe. You will find the best quality of instruction as well as have the best facilities to train in. Great environment with all the benefits such as confidence, weight loss, strength, speed, self defense and more.

Will I have to “Fight” in my class?

Muay Thai is known as the striking art of choice in such Combat Sports like the Ultimate Fighting Championships (UFC), Strikeforce, Bellator FC, Dream etc. It is a highly effective art that Siam (now Thailand) used to defend its country. In fact, KRU Muay Thai has a highly successful Competition Team that competes all over the country. However in KRU Muay Thai, the student enrolled is not forced into sparring (fighting) during curriculum group classes. Actually other than related to pad training and heavy bags, there is little to no contact, just hard training. If you are seeking to one day compete as an amateur or professional, please see our staff about becoming a “CHAMPION MEMBER” and participate in special competition training classes as well as receiving additional special benefits as a member.
